Yes, you can transfer to Diversity Foster Care even with children already in placement. You must let your agency know of your intention to move, we will support you with this. We will talk to your agency and the local authority responsible for the children you care for. We will never contact your Agency without your consent.
We will renew your Form F assessment and undertake all the necessary checks such as DBS, Medicals and references. We aim to fast track your approval if you are an existing foster carer. We will ask you to attend a Transfer Protocol Meeting so that all necessary information can be shared.
Diversity Foster Care can guide you on this process. You may initially send your agency a letter or email stating your intention to resign. Once you have attended our fostering panel and have the recommendation from the fostering panel that you should foster, you must give 28 days written notice to your current fostering agency, When the 28 days expire you will receive a letter confirming that you have been approved as a foster carer for Diversity Foster Care.
You can simply give your current agency 28 days written notice and the termination of your approval will occur automatically and requires no further action from you. We will renew your form F assessment and undertake all the necessary checks as above.
